KATKO KL Terminal Blocks Certified According to the New IEC TS 60947-7-5 Technical Specification
IEC TS 60947-7-5:2021 sets new technical requirements for terminal blocks, enabling safe and reliable connections between aluminium conductors and aluminium-to-copper conductors in industrial applications with high voltages. It enhances the safety and performance of terminal blocks, particularly in applications involving aluminium conductors, which require special attention to connection quality and durability.
IEC TS 60947-7-5 specifies the requirements for terminal blocks with screw-type or screwless-type clamping units, primarily intended for industrial or similar use and to be fixed onto a DIN rail or mounting plate. This certification applies to terminal blocks intended for the connection of aluminium conductors or aluminium-to-copper conductors. It applies terminal blocks intended to connect round conductors. The terminal blocks are intended to be used in circuits of a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V AC (up to 1 000 Hz) or 1500 V DC.
