Discontinuation of 3-pole EVA and VKA 80–160A Switches

We would like to inform you that KATKO’s 3-pole EVA and VKA 80–160A switches have reached their end-of-life. Due to significant changes in raw material availability and the resulting impact on our production, we have made the decision to discontinue the manufacturing and sales of these products with immediate effect.

These switches have been manufactured using thermoset plastic, which is no longer available from our supplier. Replacing it with a comparable material would require substantial investments in new production equipment. In addition, we are committed to phasing out the use of thermoset plastics in our products entirely and transitioning to more responsible and technically advanced materials. These combined factors have led to the decision to discontinue the production of these specific products.

Moving forward, we are focusing on modern and responsible material choices, with a particular emphasis on advanced thermoplastics. Thermoplastics are already widely used in most of our other product families and enable more flexible and efficient manufacturing processes. They also reflect our commitment to durable and future-oriented product design and manufacturing. This transition represents an important step towards delivering technically advanced and responsible solutions.
